Summary
In media, we made a short film. We worked in a group of four people, Ben Shaw, Ben O’Reilly, Toby and I. Everyone in the group got assigned a role when producing the product, Ben Shaw was the director, Ben O’Reilly was the sound designer, Toby was the cinematographer and I was the producer. We also enlisted the help of three actors as we could not be in our own film. We originally had a restaurant on Regent Street to record in but the plans fell through. After this, we found and used another location which was on Chesterton Road.

When it came to pre-production, everyone did their part as we evenly split the work between us, the director and I did a large amount of the work while Ben O’Reilly did the script and Toby did the storyboards. When it came to production we also worked well together, I made sure to create a safe working environment for everyone involved with the production as I was producer. At the start of the production, I wasn't a very strong producer as I had never fulfilled a role like it before. Our film was made to promote the take-over of social media and how it impacts people, specifically in this case how it can affect people's personal lives. I am proud of our efforts as a group as we didn’t rely on any help from adults, we all organised and did the work by ourselves. The only bit we asked for advice on was some of the editing, mainly where the best place is to cut.

When we were in the production stage, I had to step up from my role and do stuff beyond my role. We were on location and our sound designer fell ill. Because of this we had no sound designer and everyone else had more important roles to fulfil, so I decided to step up and become the temporary sound designer on that shoot. After our production, I felt like I had become a stronger producer. At the start, I wasn't very strong but I adapted to the role quickly and became a very good producer in my opinion.
